Institutional membership in CGS is open to universities and colleges of higher education significantly engaged in graduate education, research and scholarship. The Council of Graduate Schools offers three types of Institutional Membership.
Regular and Associate Membership
Available to institutions in the United States and Canada significantly engaged in graduate education, research and scholarship, and the preparation of candidates for advanced degrees.
International Membership
Available to institutions of higher education outside the U.S. and Canada that are significantly engaged in graduate education, research, and scholarship.
As the national advocate for graduate education, CGS serves as a resource for policymakers and others on issues concerning graduate education, research, and scholarship. Based in Washington, DC, the organization provides its members with regular updates and analyses of legislative and regulatory proposals and policies that affect graduate education.
