This document, Making a Difference: A Selection of Graduate Degree Holders and their Contributions to the Public Good, serves as a companion piece to the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) report Graduate Education and the Public Good. Both documents were released at the CGS Legislative Forum on April 24, 2008 in Washington, DC. Making a Difference includes a selection of hundreds of individuals who earned graduate degrees from U.S. institutions and who have made important contributions to our quality of life — either economic, societal, or cultural.
