The CGS Occasional Paper Series on Inclusiveness represents a new expression of CGS' ongoing commitment to diversify graduate education and to foster the institutional conditions for a thriving and inclusive educational environment. Other CGS activities that specifically focus on inclusiveness are the CGS/Peterson's Award for Achieving Inclusiveness and the Ph.D. Completion Project. This new publication series will present case studies developed by award-winning universities or those that have participated in the Completion Project that highlight their achievements, best practices, and lessons learned in achieving an inclusive graduate community. While these case studies foreground the achievements of particular universities, it is our belief that these case studies will provide narratives and strategies that will prove useful and inspiring to other universities.
