Growth in international applications slows to 3%

(April 14, 2008)

Applications to U.S. graduate schools from prospective international students have increased 3% from 2007 to 2008, following growth of 9% last year and 12% in 2006, a new CGS survey report has found.

While 62% of respondents reported increases in applications, 38% reported declines, and the overall number of applications is still 16% lower than it was in 2003.

Read the press release for highlights or the full report, Findings from the 2008 CGS International Graduate Admissions survey, Phase I: Applications.

Both, as well as previous CGS international admissions survey reports, can also be found on the CGS international research page.
