The 2009 Arlt Award in the Humanities, for a first book of outstanding scholarly significance, was presented to Dr. Edward Blum of San Diego State University.
The 2009 CGS/UMI Distinguished Dissertation Awards were awarded to Drs. Kristel Smentek (Ph.D., University of Delaware) and Mark Kiel (Ph.D., University of Michigan).
